MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill women's soccer team (4-4-6) drew with Bluefield State (4-9-1) by a score of 2-2 Monday afternoon.
With 30 seconds left to play, Bluefield State's Bianka Zeitvogel headed the tying goal in off of a corner from Amanda Kochis for her first of the season.
Mars Hill scored twice in the first after allowing the first goal. Less than two minutes after the Big Blue took the lead, Alyssa Kuhl punched home the loose ball for her second of the year. Carla Humera was credited with the assist.
With less than a minute to play in the frame, a turnover by Bluefield State led to Mars Hill's go-ahead goal. Ella Parton fed a breaking Zoie Steinkamp who tucked the ball inside the far post for her second goal of the year.
Mars Hill outshot Bluefield State 17-10 with Steinkamp leading all players with four shots. Camryn Miller made four saves.
The Lions wrap up their home slate on Friday, October 27 when they host Newberry at 5 p.m. on Senior Day.
