No. 22 Limestone Women’s Lacrosse Downs Emory & Henry In SAC Play Monday

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The No. 22 nationally-ranked Limestone University Women's Lacrosse Team (3-2, 2-0 SAC) defeated Emory & Henry University (0-3, 0-2 SAC) in South Atlantic Conference action Monday afternoon. The Saints earned the victory by a 22-0 final.

How It Happened
- The No. 22 Saints jumped on Emory & Henry early, as the home team tallied 11 goals in the opening period. Limestone would go on to score six more times in the second stanza to take a 17-0 advantage into the halftime break.
- LU posted four goals in the third period and one more in the final frame to seal the 22-0 win. 

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Junior midfielder Justyce Jones (Jacksonville, N.C.) led the Wasps with two shots and one ground ball. Freshman midfielder Alex Costello (Johnson City, Tenn.) had a shot and scooped up one ground ball.
- Senior defender Riley Firebaugh (Roanoke, Va.) added one shot and caused a turnover while sophomore midfielder Meg Bruner (Otto, N.C.) registered a ground ball and caused one turnover.
- Junior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Evans (Gambrills, Md.) finished with two saves and freshman goalkeeper Nicole Byrd (Virginia Beach, Va.) added another in goal for E&H.

Limestone Individual Leaders
- Reese Hjertaas, Sophie Shortino, Ava Stanza and Keira Martin all contributed three goals each for the Saints.
- Tristan Schkade, Emily Mirabile, Courtney Miller and Emma McCoy split time in net for LU with Mirabile recording a pair of saves.
