Cobras Drop Second Day of Round Robin to Shippensburg and Adelphi

Hartsville, SC - The Coker University Softball Team dropped both of their martches on Saturday (Feb. 25) to Shippensburg and Adelphi. 

Game One: 

Coker started off the day toe to toe with Shippensburg, Shippensburg getting Alyssa Nehlan and Morgan Lindsey across home plate first. Despite quick scores by Shippensburg, Ariana fiar answered back with a triple to left field, bringing Ashton Goodwin home for Coker's first run of the game. Not long after, Brooklynn Stueness singled to right field and batted in Ariana Fair. Although Coker continued to play well defensively, Shippensburg was able to score an extra three runs to put the game away. 

Of the 28 at bats, the Cobras has seven hits and two RBI's. Chloe Pelham registerd a double and Ariana Fair claimed a triple for the game. Ariana Fair and Brooklynn Stueness collected the two RBI's of the game. Brooklynn Stueness also had a stolen base. 

Pitching for the Cobras, Jenae Fedewa threw against 31 batters and collected 65 strikes out of 98 pitches. Tibby Hessian also pitched against the Raiders and faced three batters. Hessian three six strikes out of seven pitches.

 

Game Two:

Game Two began completely different for the Cobras. Although Coker registered four hits out of the 27 at bats, there was only one run scored. Brooklynn Stueness was able to score home on a passed ball by Adelphi and claim the only run for the Cobras. 

Kayla Oswell and Brooklynn Stueness both hit a double throughout the game and also claimed all four of the hits during the game.

Tibby Hessian, Cecilia Hogel, and Hannah Fisher all pitched against Adelphi. Hessian faced 26 batters, Hogel faced seven, and Fisher faced 3 for the day. 

The Cobras will be returning to the field on Wednesday (March 1) against Carson Newman. The first pitch will be thrown at 12 PM in Jefferson City.
