
Coker Falls On The Road At Wingate
Wingate outscores Cobras in second half to down Coker.
WINGATE, NC. - Coker fell Wednesday night to Wingate in a back and forth game. the Cobras were lead by Judson Coan's 16 points, as Coker saw four players reach double figures.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Coker and Wingate went back and forth early Wednesday night to set the stage for how the game was going to shape out over the course of 40 minutes. The Cobras led at the first media timeout 8-6 thanks to buckets from Glenn Bynum Jr., Judson Coan, and Landon Butler.
The Cobras went on numerous runs throughout the first half, the first of which started at the 14 minute mark. Coker went on a 9-2 run over the course of four minutes to help hold a 21-14 lead with 10 minutes remaining in the first half. The Bulldogs didn't go away quietly though. They responded with multiple baskets time and time again from the SAC's leading scorer, Kendal Taylor.
With five minutes remaining, Coker led 30-26, before Max Hurray drained a three pointer to extend the Coker lead. Jonah Vaysbakh then followed the Hurray three with one of his own, and Coker held a 36-28 lead. Wingate then closed the first half on a 10-3 run, and it was Coker holding onto a 39-38 halftime lead.
Out of the break, senior Glenn Bynum Jr. made back to back threes to quickly get the Cobras offense started. The Bulldogs quickly responded and took the lead with 15 minutes remaining. The two teams then began the seesaw battle. Over the course of the next seven minutes neither team lead by more than three points.
As the clock began to tick down, Coker tied the game at 78 after a pair of Ian Blue free throws. Wingate then turned to Kendal Taylor once more who put in a layup with 44 second remaining to quickly regain the lead. After a missed jumper, and Wingate free throws down the stretch, it was the Bulldogs coming away from Wednesday nights game with the crucial win.
Coker forced 17 turnovers on the night, while also assisting on 18 made baskets. The Cobras shot just 30.8 percent from behind the arc on the night, as they went 12-39. Max Hurray led Coker from three with three made attempts. Logan Murray led Coker in the assist column for the second consecutive game with four on the night.
