Softball Splits at home in a Conference Series

Hartsville, SC-  Coker looked strong in both games but split with Limestone. Coker had multiple big hits in both games but could not complete the sweep.

 

Game 1- (5-4)

The Saints looked strong as they took the lead early in the first game and held on to it for the majority of the game. At the bottom of the fifth Coker's bats lit up the scoreboard but a double from Ariana Fair who scored Mya Cribbs from second gave the Cobras their first run of the game. In the bottom of the 7th Kayla Oswell touch all four bases as she bombed one over dead center. Chloe Pelham kept it rolling for the team as she singled into the outfield scoring Fair and Brooklynn Stueness. Delaney Eaves walked it off for Coker by shooting a single up the middle scoring Cameron Jackson.

 

Game 2- (7-12)

Limestone took the lead early this time and didn't give up throughout the game. Jackson started it off for Coker at the bottom of the third with a single to shortstop scoring Kelsi Scott who reached earlier in the inning.  Haley McCoy hit a single homerun in the top of the fourth to give the team a chance to make it (2-3). Oswell came up big again and hit a blast over the fence scoring Makenzie Harmon. Stueness singled in the same inning scoring Scott and Cribbs. The last run Coker went on to score came in at the bottom of the 7th with Carter Freeman singling scoring Caitlyn Wray. Coker dropped the second game (7-12).
