The Mars Hill volleyball team (8-7, 4-6 SAC) was defeated by Anderson (17-3, 10-1 SAC) in three sets (14-25, 18-25, 19-25) Saturday afternoon.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (8-7, 4-6 SAC) was defeated by Anderson (17-3, 10-1 SAC) in three sets (14-25, 18-25, 19-25) Saturday afternoon.
The Trojans hit a match-high .472 in the first set with 18 kills on 36 swings, committing just one error. They continued to hit well throughout the match, posting 17 and 18 kills respectively in sets two and three.
Mars Hill's bid to send the match to a fourth set late in the third was held off by Anderson as they secured their 10th conference win of the season.
Jaelyn Grimm and Rylie Sargent led all players with 14 kills apiece. Jada Cannon led the Lions with 12 kills, hitting .385. on the day.
The duo of Cannon and Jordan Schmucker collected 11 digs apiece while Schmucker led the team with 24 assists.
The Lions travel on Tuesday, October 17 to take on Converse in non-conference play. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
