
Lions score four unanswered, defeats Emmanuel

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill baseball team (17-29) defeated Emmanuel (27-20) by a score of 4-3 in non-conference play Tuesday afternoon.
Mars Hill, trailing 3-0 entering the bottom of the sixth, began their comeback bid.
Chris Bleeker's RBI double was the catalyst, plating Jaden James for the Lions' first run. He later scored off of Tai Gilbert's RBI triple.
In the bottom of the seventh, Zach Weaver tied the game with a RBI double that scored Alex Naran. To complete the comeback, with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth, James' sacrifice fly plated Davis Anders for the game-winning run.
Naran led all players with three hits followed by Weaver's two.
Nate Crissey picked up his third win of the season, throwing two perfect innings in relief, striking out three. Donald Gorgei started the contest, allowing one run on one hit in three innings.
The Lions return to South Atlantic Conference play on Friday, April 27 when they host Lenoir-Rhyne. First pitch of the weekend series is set for 2 p.m. at Henderson Field.
