
Lions fall to Middle Georgia
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Mars Hill softball team (5-3) was defeated by Middle Georgia (4-2) by a score of 11-3 Sunday afternoon.
The Lions took an early 1-0 lead after one as Sara Rexrode drove Sydney Hodges in off of a RBI single to center field.
The Knights scored three in the top of the second and extended their lead to 6-1 after four with Bullock's three-run home run.
Maia Sholter's two-run home run cut into the Knights lead in the bottom of the fourth, pulling within three. Middle Georgia reestablished their six-run lead in the top of the fifth, plating three. In the top of the seventh, the Knights' Procto hit her second two-run home run of the game.
Sholter led the Lions with two hits and two RBI. Rexrode added two hits while Leah Grimes and Katie Todd each added a hit apiece.
The Lions are slated to play Montreat on Tuesday, February 11 with the first game set for a 3 p.m. first pitch.
