Queens jumped out to a one-run lead in the top half of the second inning due to a Lions' error that allowed Jordyn Thompson to score.
The Lions would go on to score three runs over the next three innings to ultimately put the game out of reach for the Royals. Queens put four runs on the board to open the game in the top of the first due to an Ashley Mickler single that scored Gerlea Patton and a three-run home run from Haley Nelson. The Lions responded by putting up a four-spot of their own in the bottom half of the inning by a Farley Park double scoring Miranda Marks and a Micki Maxson two run home run, plating Park.
In the bottom of the third, Park would add another RBI to her stat line after plating Maggie Langheim with a single. Queens went on to score four over the remainder of the contest. In the final inning, the Lions scored two more on a pair of singles from Maxson and Craig, but their comeback fell just one run short.
