
Mars Hill downed in five-set thriller versus Limestone
The Mars Hill volleyball team (21-11, 9-9 SAC) was defeated by Limestone (11-12, 8-10 SAC) in five sets (24-26, 25-14, 25-17, 22-25, 11-15) Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (21-11, 9-9 SAC) was defeated by Limestone (11-12, 8-10 SAC) in five sets (24-26, 25-14, 25-17, 22-25, 11-15) Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale.
Five Saints recorded double-digit kills in their come from behind win over the Lions. Limestone posted 10 aces on the afternoon with Paige Gardella credited with four. In the final frame, the Saints forced the Lions to commit nine attack errors.
The Lions took the middle frames, including a second set that saw them hit a team-high .357. In the fourth set, Limestone potted 21 kills and hit .364.
Mars Hill closed out the regular season with 21 wins, the most since 1998. Prior to first serve, seniors Sarah Boler, Kelly Jakaitis, and Sarah Goddard were recognized as part of the Senior Day celebration.
