Early Goal Enough as Newberry Defeats Trojans; 1-0

NEWBERRY, S.C –Anderson University men's soccer could not overcome the early goal falling in its first South Atlantic Conference match to Newberry, 1-0, on Wednesday afternoon at the Smith Road Soccer Complex.

With the loss, the Trojans drop to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in SAC action while the Wolves move to 3-3-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Newberry's Eric Brody finished off a pass from Daniel Reyes just inside the 2nd minute of action.

Anderson outshot Newberry for the match 22 (7) – 14 (7) with Newberry holding the slight edge, 5-4, on corner kicks.

Anderson's Gal Elyashiv was credited with six saves on the night while Newberry's keeper Jacob Williams had seven stops.
