Baseball Drops Doubleheader against Catawba

Salisbury, N.C. - Coker University baseball dropped its conference doubleheader on the road against Catawba College by finals of 13-1 and 18-5 on Friday (Mar. 5). 

 

Game One: 

 

Catawba would jump out ahead, scoring four in the bottom of the first. Coker would get on the board in the third from Reilly Hall's blast over the right field wall bringing the score to 4-1. Catawba would plate another in the third to make it 5-1. 

 

Catawba's offense would surge in the fourth, plating eight runs to bring the final score to 13-1. 

 

Game Two:

 

Catawba jumped out ahead in the first by plating nine runs and four in the second.

 

Coker would strike back in the third, scoring four. First from Bryan Castillo's two-RBI double to left, scoring Lake Lybrand and Hall who reached earlier on a walk making it 2-0. Phill Griffor's sacrifice fly to right scored Cam Murray who reached earlier on a walk. Drew Klaserner's RBI double to right-center brought home Castillo to make it 13-4. 

 

Catawba would plate two more in the bottom of the third and three more in the fifth to bring it to 18-4.

 

Coker would score in the sixth from Lake Lybrand's sacrifice fly to second, scoring Klaserner who was reached when he was hit by a pitch to bring the final score to 18-5
