Softball Splits SAC Doubleheader at Carson-Newman

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Coker College softball team split their South Atlantic Conference doubleheader on Saturday (Mar. 30) at Carson-Newman. The Cobras fell 6-0 in game one before bouncing backing for a 1-0 win in game two.

In the first game of the day the Cobras struggled to put runs on the board but Ashley Meckley impressed with three hits. Anna Gluhosky also added a hit.

In the circle, Isabelle Mullen was hit with her first loss of the season after giving up just two hits and one run in her four innings of work.

In game two Christine Carver stole the show as she shut the Eagles down. The junior right-gander tosses a complete game two-hitter while striking out five batters. Offensively, Chloe Pelham provided the lone run of the game with a home run down the left field line. Meckley and Madison King also chipped in with a pair of hits each.

The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday (Apr. 3) for a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader at home against Newberry starting at 2:00 PM.
