
Mars Hill falls to Tusculum in five-set thriller
The Mars Hill volleyball team (11-6, 3-5 SAC) was defeated in five sets (25-13, 21-25, 20-25, 25-18, 10-15) versus Tusculum (11-2, 7-1 SAC) Saturday night.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill volleyball team (11-6, 3-5 SAC) was defeated in five sets (25-13, 21-25, 20-25, 25-18, 10-15) versus Tusculum (11-2, 7-1 SAC) Saturday night.
The Lions fought back to tie the match at two, taking the fourth set by a score of 25-18, hitting .306, their best on the night. Tusculum jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the deciding frame, but the Lions clawed their way back to tie the frame at 10. Emiah Burrowes landed three kills in the final five points of the match, clinching the 3-2 win for Tusculum.
Mars Hill took the first set recording 10 kills on 33 attempts (.273) while Tusculum committed 11 errors, hitting -.047. The Pioneers, in the third set, hit a game-high .312, collecting 19 kills on 48 attempts.
