
Lions swept by No. 4 LMU
The Mars Hill softball team (10-11, 1-7 SAC) was swept by No. 4 Lincoln Memorial (20-1, 9-1 SAC) Wednesday afternoon by scores of 8-0 and 10-0.

GAME ONE: LMU 8, MHU 0
Lincoln Memorial's Emma Frost threw a perfect game against the Lions, striking out 12 of 15 batters.
After four scoreless innings, Bella Buccellato opened the scoring with a two-run double. Ty-Kella Goins plated Buccellato with a RBI triple to put the Railsplitters up 3-0.
Lincoln Memorial added four more runs in the bottom of the fifth, highlighted by two RBI doubles from Sierra Hucklebee and McKenzie Henry, respectively.
Buccellato led all players with three RBI while Emma Webb recorded a game-high three hits.
GAME TWO: LMU 10, MHU 0
The Railsplitters used an eight-run first inning to secure the sweep.
Sierra Hucklebee opened the scoring with a RBI double plating Ty-Kella Goins. Later in the inning, up 6-0, Madison Henry drove in two with a double to center field. In the bottom of the third, she added another RBI with a single to put the Railsplitters up 9-0.
The Lions recorded four hits in game two off the bats of Brookelynn Nanney, Maegan Blair, Maggie Langheim, and Alicia Wittenhagen.
Henry led all players with two hits and three RBI. Bella Buccellato went 2-for-2 in the game with two RBI.
Bailey Griffith struck out five in the win while Kayla Gallagher allowed seven runs on three hits in one inning in the loss.
The Lions return home on Saturday, March 20 when they host Lenoir-Rhyne. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
