EMORY, Va. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (4-4-4, 2-4-3 SAC) defeated Emory & Henry (2-6-4, 0-5-2 SAC) by a score of 1-0 Sunday afternoon on the road.
Just 35 seconds into the contest, Bailey Whitehead-Price scored her first of the season, putting home a pass from Samantha Swinson. Mars Hill went on to outshoot the Wasps 8-3 as they carried the one goal advantage going into the half.
Emory & Henry flipped the momentum, outshooting the Lions 9-3 in the second half in their attempt to tie the contest. Two shots found their way on target and Camryn Miller made both saves.
Carla Humera led all players with four shot attempts while Zoie Steinkamp directed both of her shots on target.
Miller made four saves for her fifth shutout of the season.
The Lions host Tampa in non-conference play on Thursday, October 19 at 5 p.m. inside the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.
