Women’s Lacrosse falls to UAH on Sunday

Salisbury, N.C. —- The Catawba College women's lacrosse team dropped a home game on Sunday afternoon versus University of Alabama in Huntsville, 18-2, at Shuford Stadium. The Chargers improve to 3-3 overall, while the Catawba Indians drop to 1-3 on the season.

Mackenzie Mullan and Kylie Harris scored the Catawba goals, while Joey Baillie tallied three ground balls and four draw controls. Evie Kauserud recorded eight saves in goal.

Though Catawba tied the game at 1-1 halfway through the first quarter, UAH dominated the rest of the way, out-shooting Catawba 32-10 and converting all 12 of their free-position shots. The Chargers scored each of the five goals scored in the second quarter, taking a 7-1 lead at the halftime break.

UAH continued the offensive output in the second half, scoring the first five goals to take an 11-1 lead at the 4:18 mark. Harris scored to stop the running clock briefly, but UAH scored the game's final seven goals to earn their third win of the season.

Catawba returns to Shuford Stadium on Saturday, hosting Lander for a 3:30 p.m. start.
