Trojans Overpower Queens; 71-43

Charlotte, N.C. – After a 10 day layoff that included Thanksgiving break, the Anderson University women's basketball team enjoyed being back on the hardwood, finalizing its four-game road swing with a 71-43 victory over South Atlantic Conference opponent Queens on Saturday afternoon.

With the victory, Anderson moves to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference while the loss drops Queens to 0-7 on the year and 0-2 in the SAC.

The Trojans were led by senior Jasmine Franklin's second double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Franklin also added two assists, two steals and a block to her stat line on the afternoon. Freshman Madison Baggett joined Franklin as a double-digit scorer, dropping in 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor.

The Royals only had one player reach double-digit scoring with reserve Mendy McNeese scoring 10 points on 3-of-8 from the floor, 2-of-3 from 3-point range and 2-of-4 from the charity stripe.

The Black and Gold enjoyed contributions from the entire team as 11-of-13 players that logged minutes scored at least two points. Senior Heather Jankowy and sophomore Erika Martin each scored eight points for the Trojans while senior Nakia Young and freshman Alex Mollenhauer netted seven apiece. Junior Kaylee Koerperich chipped in six while sophomore Tamia Eatmon scored four points. Freshmen Makayla Green and Hannah Hodges each scored three and two points, respectively while senior Bailey Sims dropped in a bucket to complete Anderson's scoring.

Queens enjoyed its only lead of the game when it led from the opening tip to the 6:57 mark in the first period. The Trojans tied the game 4-4 on a jumper by Jankowy and never looked back, holding the lead for the next 36:09 and claiming the 71-43 victory.

Head Coach Jonathon Barbaree's Thoughts: "Really proud of how we defended today and proud of how we came out of the locker room. Everyone stayed focused and did their job. It is always great to win on the road."

- Anderson completed its 4-game road swing, which is its longest road stretch of the season.
-Franklin's six offensive boards moves the senior into a tie for the sixth most offensive rebounds (241) in program history.
-The Trojans have started off conference play 2-0 over the past four seasons.
