GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University defeated Purdue Northwest 4-0 in non-conference women's tennis Monday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.

The Pioneers (1-8) faced off against a shorthanded Pride (4-9) that had just five players available, and finished off the victory in just 90 minutes.

In doubles, following a default win at flight three the Pioneers clinched the point as Elodie Baechler and Ylva Frafjord Landa beat Salma Raslan and Haizea Lopez by a 6-0 score.

In singles, the Pride defaulted at flight six to give Tusculum a 2-0 lead in the match. Landa claimed a quick win as Raslan retired down 4-0 in the first set at flight two, and Valeria Diaz clinched the win with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Lopez at flight three.

The Pioneers return to South Atlantic Conference action on Wednesday, March 19 at Carson-Newman, beginning at 11 a.m.
