Trojans Outrun Tornados to Claim Huge Victory; 85-52

Brevard, N.C. – Playing its first game in a two-week span, the Anderson University women's basketball team picked up right where it left off prior to Christmas break defeating South Atlantic Conference opponent Brevard; 85-52 on Wednesday evening in Brevard.

With the win, Anderson improves to 9-2 overall and sits at 6-1 in the conference while Brevard drops to 5-6 overall and 1-6 in the SAC.

The Trojans placed four players in double-figures with the Black and Gold being led by freshman guard Madison Baggett's 16 points. Baggett was a perfect 6-6 from the floor while draining all four 3-point shots taken by the Alabama native. Senior Bailey Sims scored a career high 11 points while pulling down five rebounds with sophomore Erika Martin also chipping in 11 points in just eight minutes of action. Sophomore Tamia Eatmon dropped in 10 points with four rebounds and four assists to help propel the Trojans to victory.

Anderson had the luxury of playing all 13 players with each contributing at least one point and eight minutes of playing time. Freshman Alexy Mollenhauer ripped down a career high 13 rebounds for the Trojans helping Anderson dominate the glass with a 44-25 advantage.

The Tornados were led by forward Madison Lenox's game high 22 points and eight rebounds. Lenox has scored 20 or more points in Brevard's last four contests.

Anderson led wire to wire enjoying its best 3-point performance of the year connecting on 10-of-16 (62.5%) and its highest free throw shooting percentage to date (81.8%).

Head Coach Jonathon Barbaree's Thoughts: "After a long break it was just nice to play again. I thought we did a great job sharing the ball and knocking down our shots."

-Anderson outrebounded (44-25) its opponent for the ninth time this season.
-The Trojans bench outscored Brevard's reserves 43-6.
-Anderson enjoyed its lowest turnover total of the season (12).
- Baggett has scored in double figures 6-out-7 conference games.
-Anderson is 11-2 against Brevard in SAC regular-season games, 7-0 at home and 4-2 on the road.
-Since joining the SAC, Anderson has gone 2-5 during the first game back after Christmas break.
