Women's Lacrosse Earns 17-10 Road Win At Coker

RECAP: Northwood Women's Lacrosse picked up the first road win in program history Sunday afternoon (March 9), defeating Coker 17-10.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Northwood came out fast with a strong opening quarter. NU put up three of the first four and the final three goals of the period for a 6-2 lead.
  • Sam Peterson had three goals the opening quarter, while Gabriella Torgeson, Montana Chuba, Gabby Wilson each added one.
  • Coker responded with a good start to the second, scoring the first three goals to make the score 6-5.
  • The Timberwolves were the better team the final 7:01 of the second, putting up four of the final five goals to make the score 17-6 at halftime.
  • Taylor Murrell scored her first of the game in the second, while Chuba, Torgeson and Wilson each added their second goals of the game.
  • After the Cobras scored the first goal of the second half, Northwood dominated the remainder of the third. The Timberwolves scored the final six goals of the period to open up a 16-7 lead heading to the final period.
  • NU's goals in the third came from Murrell (11:13, 10:47), Addie Valler (9:11), Peterson (3:44) and Wilson (1:52, :01).
  • Chuba scored Northwood's lone goal of the final period to close out the NU victory.
