Trojans Solid Down the Stretch in Overtime Win at Newberry; 67-63

ANDERSON, S.C. The Anderson University women's basketball needed an extra five minutes of play to pull off the, 67-63, road win over South Atlantic Conference foe Newberry on Saturday evening at the Eleazer Arena.

With the victory, Anderson improves to 14-4 overall and 11-3 in the league while Newberry drops to 11-7 overall and 7-7 in the conference action.

The Trojans were paced by four double-digit scorers with freshman guard Alexy Mollenhauer scoring a team-high 14 points while grabbing five rebounds. Sophomore Tamia Eatmon netted 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting and 5-of-6 from the free throw line while senior Heather Jankowy and junior Kaylee Koerperich chipped in 10 points apiece. Jankowy was a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe on the night.

After an Anderson timeout advancing the ball to midcourt, Mollenhauer was fouled on a short shot making 1-of-2 free throws to send the game into overtime.

The Black and Gold controlled the overtime period forcing the Wolves to foul. Anderson made 5-of-6 foul shots down the stretch to claim its 11th conference victory of the season.

Head Coach Jonathon Barbaree's Thoughts: "A road win is a road win...we will take it. They played a great defensive game against us and it was a battle. Rebounding again has to improve and we will definitely get back at it."
