ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University men's tennis used solid play to defeat nonconference opponent Belmont Abbey, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon at the AU Tennis Complex
The Black and Gold finished doubles play with a 2-1 advantage. No. 2 pairing Tomas Depiaggio and Simon Wilson defeated Zachary Blythe and Henrique Leal, 8-4, while No. 3 duo Ignacio Bidegain and Preston Morpeth defeated Reinaldo Golindano and Jose Disotuar, 8-2.
In singles action, Anderson picked up wins at No. 1 with Ignacio Bidegain defeating James Delaney, No.
2 with Jeffrey Dayton winning over George Barfoot, No. 4 with Tomas Depiaggio defeating Carlos Nolasco and Hufelder Duarte defeating Henrique Leal at the No. 6 flight.
Anderson travels to Wingate on Tuesday to open up South Atlantic Conference action. First-serve is scheduled for 1 pm.
