FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Coker University volleyball team fell to Fayetteville State Tuesday night (Oct. 26) in non-conference action by a score of 3-1.
Fayetteville State took a 2-0 lead in the match with set victories of 25-21 and 25-17, before the Cobras rallied to win the third set 25-19. Fayetteville State would wrap up the match with a 25-19 victory in the fourth set.
Emily Everton paced the Cobras with a match-high 14 kills, while Chelsey Blume also notched 11 kills in the match. Naomi Earl-Reyes finished with seven kills, while Taylor Parker had six and three other Cobras each had two kills. Carson Fuller also added one. Rami Mullen dished out a team-best 18 assists, while Ashley Carson contributed 15, Makyla Harris had four and Blume had one. Blume and Alyssa Lake each had one solo block in the contest, while Blume also led the Cobras with five block assists on the night. Earl-Reyes and Lake each had four block assists, while Fuller had two and Everton added one.
The Cobras are back in action next Friday (Nov. 5) to host Lenoir-Rhyne in South Atlantic Conference action. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. from the DeLoach Center, with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
