JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman stayed perfect in South Atlantic Conference play with a win at home over Lenoir-Rhyne.
Carson-Newman (5-2, 3-0 SAC) played its first conference contest at home, upending Lenoir-Rhyne (4-4, 2-1 SAC) handing LR its first SAC loss of the season.
"We started out a little bit slow, but we were able to grind it back in singles," Carson-Newman Women's Tennis head coach Nathan Gangelhoff said. "We had amazing team energy, our girls really rallied behind each other to pull off the singles win and I never doubted or hesitated out girls, and they never doubted or hesitated with each other."
Despite dropping the doubles point, the Eagles went 4-1 in singles matches highlighted by a dominant 6-0/6-2 victory in the No. 5 flight from Leah McBride (Johnson City, Tenn.) over the Bears' Alexa Allison.

C-N dropped the doubles point with impressive performances from LR, quickly finishing two matches to leave the No. 3 flight unfinished.
