How It Happened:
Game 1: The Pioneers came out with their bats hot in the first game, jumping out to a 12-0 lead in the fourth inning. The Cobras scored two runs in the top of the fifth, but the beginning of a late comeback wasn't quite enough as the Cobras fell in five innings to the Pioneers.
Game 2: The Pioneers raced out to another lead in this one, going up 4-0 in the first three innings of play. The difference this time was that the Cobras weren't done quite yet. In the top of the fourth, Payton Brigman doubled to left center to score Moore and Cheyenne Palmer, and then Hennessy singled to left center to score Brigman to make it a one-run game at 4-3. Tusculum extended it back to 6-3 in the bottom of that inning, and the Cobras got one back in the top of the fifth when Slack scored on an unearned run. In the top of the seventh, the Cobras made this a ballgame when Carter Freeman doubled to left field to score Savanah Fowler and Ariana Fair to tie this at 6-6. Unfortunately, the Pioneers scored in the bottom of the seventh to walk it off as the Cobras fell in Game 2.
