Bio
Eliane Kebbe is in her tenth year with the South Atlantic Conference. She was promoted to Associate Commissioner in September 2013 and was promoted to Senior Associate Commissioner in July 2018.
As the Associate Commissioner for Championships and Compliance, she is primarily responsible for overseeing the coordination of the conference’s compliance services, sport services and championships.
In addition, Kebbe serves as the SAC’s Senior Women’s Administrator and works with the league’s SWA Committee and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Kebbe has more than 20 years in athletic administration. Prior to joining the South Atlantic Conference, Kebbe served as Director of Athletics at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C., from 1997 to 2007, where she was responsible for overseeing planning and budgets for 16 varsity teams, athletic training, compliance and sports information. Under her guidance, Belmont Abbey won two Joby Hawn Cups, the trophy presented to the best all-around athletic program in the Conference Carolinas, and increased sports sponsorship from 12 to 16 varsity sports. Kebbe was given the Administrator of the Year Award in 2005.
Kebbe served as a successful head women’s basketball coach at Belmont Abbey from 1986 to 2001. She guided her teams to six conference tournament championships, three conference tournament runner-up titles, six regular season championships and six national tournament berths. She earned conference and district Coach of the Year Awards, and ranks as one of the NCAA Division II's winningest coaches, with a record of 315-110 in 15 years at Belmont Abbey.
In 2002, Kebbe - the winningest basketball coach in Belmont Abbey history - was inducted into the Belmont Sports Hall of Fame.
Kebbe has served on several NCAA national committees, including the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Committee - on which she chaired her final year - and the NCAA Division II Legislation Committee. In 2014, Kebbe was again slated to serve on the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee.
Kebbe received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College in Flushing, N.Y., and a Masters of Education from the University of Georgia.
