Queens Wins Back-To-Back South Atlantic Conference Women’s Cross Country Titles
Newton, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte Women's Cross Country Team successfully defended its South Atlantic Conference Championship Saturday morning at Southside Park.
The Royals, ranked No. 15 in NCAA Division II, had two of the top three runners in the 5K race including the individual champion in Hannah Wolkenhauer. Wolkenhauer won with a time of 17:13 while teammate Lucie Noall finished third (18:03).
In addition, Queens' Gillian Kasitz was named the 2017 SAC Women's Cross Country Freshman Of The Year. Kasitz finished ninth overall, clocking an 18:35.
The 2017 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Southeast Regional Championship is scheduled for Saturday, November 4, on the campus of Wingate University in Wingate, N.C.
