Carson-Newman Earns No. 6 Seed in DII Volleyball National Championship Reseeding
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman University was tabbed No. 6 in the updated NCAA Division II National Championship, with teams advancing to the national quarterfinals being reseeded.
The Eagles are coming off of a regional title win this past Saturday (Dec. 7) in which they defeated the No. 4 seeded Augusta Jaguars in straight sets. Five players were named to the all-tournament team led by Erin Edwards (Midlothian, Va.) who paced all players with a career-high 19 kills posting a scorching .435 hitting percentage. Morgan Ballard, Megan Oldenburger, Marnie Streeter and Kaina Roehrkasse also earned slots on all-tournamnet. Carson-Newman has now won the SAC tournament, and NCAA Southeast Region titles in the same year for the first time in program history. This will be the Eagles second appearance in the national quarterfinal since 2015.
