The South Atlantic Conference Announces Week Eight Astroturf Volleyball Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)– The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the week for matches played during the eighth week of the 2019 season. Anderson's Hailee Wilhelm takes Player of the Week honors, while Anderson's Emily Conlin was named Specialist of the Week.

Wilhelm, a senior middle hitter, helped lead the Trojans to a 3-0 record in conference play this past week. She tallied 12 kills, five digs and five blocks in a five-set road win over Carson-Newman. She went on to knock down 30 kills, 12 digs and 13 blocks in total on the week. Wilhelm ranks fourth in the conference with a hitting percentage of .326 per set and 19th in blocks. This is Wilhelm's first Player of the Week Honor this season.

 A senior setter from Glendale, Az. Conlin also helped lead the Trojans to another perfect 3-0 record on the week, averaging 9.14 assists per set totaling 128 assists. She averaged nearly 43 assists and more than 20 digs in matches against all three opponents. Conlin earned her 13th double-double of the season totaling 45 assists and coming up with a season-high 29 digs and three block assists in her match against Carson-Newman. She continues to lead the conference in both assists (859) and assists per set (11.74/set). This is Conlin's fifth Specialist of the Week Honor this season.
