The South Atlantic Conference Announces Week Two AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)– The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the week for matches played during the second week of the 2019 season. Lenoir-Rhyne's Taylor Prall takes Player of the Week honors for the second week in a row, while Lincoln Memorial's Emily Walter was named Specialist of the Week.
Prall, a junior outside hitter, tied and then broke her career-high for kills over the weekend. Tallying 23 kills against Lincoln Memorial to break her record of 22. Prall recorded three straight double-doubles with a season-high of 17 digs against the Railsplitters. Prall has accumulated 109 kills on the year, so far, putting her 44 kills ahead of the next closest competitor. She consistently averages 4.36 kills/set, 0.60 higher than other players in the league. This is Prall's second consecutive Player of the Week honor.
A sophomore setter from Buford, Ga. Walter, helped the Railsplitters to a 2-1 record in league play over the weekend. Walter pulled together over 30 assists in each match averaging 10.5 assists per set, while adding 2.73 digs, 0.55 kills, 0.27 blocks and 0.55 aces per set. During LMU's sweep over Tusculum, Walter gathered a season-high 14 digs, she also produced 10 digs in a five-set thriller against Lenoir-Rhyne. This is Walter's first Specialist of the Week honor this season.
