The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the Week for matches played from Oct. 1 through Oct. 7. Wingate swept the honors with Phoebe Havenaar garnering the Player of the Week award, while Rachel Alles was named Specialist of the Week.

A senior middle blocker, Havenaar had another efficient week for the Bulldogs, leading them to three more conference wins while remaining one of two undefeated Division II teams. The Naperville, Ill. native collected 37 kills on a .352 percentage to go along with an assist, nine digs, and eight block assists. Havenaar hit over .400 in the matches against Catawba and Lincoln Memorial. This is Havenaar's second Player of the Week honor in 2018.

Alles, a junior setter, played a huge role offensively and defensively for the Bulldogs to help them remain perfect on the season. The Tinley Park, Ill. native racked up 12 kills on a .435 percentage, 108 assists, five service aces, 41 digs, and six total blocks. In all three matches, Alles ended with a double-double in assists and digs. This is Alles's second Specialist of the Week honor of the season.
