SAC Volleyball Weekly Awards go to LMU’s Fowler, Wingate’s Willis

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lincoln Memorial junior Blaire Fowler has been named the SAC Volleyball Player of the Week, and Wingate senior Liz Willis is the league's Specialist of the Week, it was announced on Monday.

Fowler was the top performer last week for a LMU squad that went a perfect 3-0 and now sits just one loss behind Wingate in the SAC standings.

In LMU's win over Carson-Newman, Fowler had 20 kills and 14 digs. She followed that up with 18 kills and 11 digs at Newberry, and then 12 kills and 10 digs against Anderson. She is third in the SAC this season with 3.34 kills per-set.

Willis, who earns the Specialist of the Week Award for the second time this season, averaged 12.6 assists and 2.8 digs per-set in Wingate's two wins last week. She tallied 40 assists, nine digs and two blocks against Catawba, followed by 23 assists, five digs and two aces in WU's victory over Brevard.

Willis currently leads the SAC by averaging 11.77 assists per-set.
