The South Atlantic Conference Announces Women's Track & Field Elite 18 Honoree
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tori Gaul from Carson-Newman University was named the 2017 South Atlantic Conference Women's Track and Field Elite 18 honoree, the League announced today. This is a new award for the SAC and honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade-point average based on a minimum of 48 credit hours who is competing at the final site of each of the Conference's 18 team championship sports
Gaul, a junior from Salisbury, N.C., carries a 4.0 GPA as a biology major. She is the school record holder in the pole vault and outdoor 400m hurdles. At this year's SAC Track and Field Championship, she placed second in the pole vault with a height of 3.61 meters to provisionally qualify for the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
The South Atlantic Conference and Southeast Region women's pole vault champion from 2016, she was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District first team by season's end for her part in the classroom.
Gaul is an Eagle Scholar and a member of the Carson-Newman Dean's List.
