The South Atlantic Conference Announces Women's Track & Field Preseason Poll and Watch List
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens has been selected to win the 2017 South Atlantic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship as voted by the League's head coaches, the League announced today. The Royals received seven first-place votes for a total of 71 points from the panel.
Queens won the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship as it posted 269 team points at the Championship.
Wingate placed in second with two first-place votes and 58 points. The Bulldogs finished second in last year's Championship with 167 points. Anderson rounds out the top-three with 52 points from the panel following a fourth-place finish at last year's tournament.
Lenoir-Rhyne opens the year at No. 4 with 47 points, while Coker begins at the No. 5 spot with 39 points. Coming in at No. 6 is Carson-Newman after receiving 37 points followed by Mars Hill at No. 7 with 27 points. Lincoln Memorial places at the No. 8 spot with 22 points while Brevard rounds out the poll at the No. 9 spot with 11 points.
