League Coaches Vote Wingate as Preseason Favorite in SAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Wingate Bulldogs have been picked as the 2024-25 preseason Women's Indoor Track and Field favorite according to the Preseason Coaches' Poll, released today (December 5).

The Bulldogs received 12 first-place votes and 144 points in the preseason poll.

Lenoir-Rhyne earned the second spot with one first-place vote and 133 points, while Carson-Newman placed third with 111 points followed by Catawba at No. 4 with 109 points.

Anderson came in at No. 5 with 107 points, followed by Tusculum in sixth with 83 points. Lincoln Memorial came in seventh with 77 points and were narrowly trailed by Limestone who placed eighth and totaled 75 points. Newberry was tabbed to finish ninth and earned 46 points.

Mars Hill landed at No. 10 in the poll with 43 points, while Emory & Henry took the No. 11 spot with 40 points. Rounding out the poll at No. 12 and No. 13 was Coker with 24 points and UVA Wise with 22 points.

In addition to the preseason poll, the SAC also released the Indoor Track & Field Athletes to Watch list. This list includes the top athletes from each school to keep an eye on during the 2024-25 indoor track & field season. The full list of athletes to watch is listed below by team.

The 2024-25 Indoor Track & Field season will begin this weekend and will continue until the 2025 SAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Mar. 1-2.
