The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets held this last week. Lenoir-Rhyne's Kylie Dahlberg took the track honor while Queens took the field honor with Elise Ulseth.
A senior distance runner, Dahlberg, competed in the Bast-Cregger Invitational this past Saturday where she took first-place in the women's 800m race with a time of 2:25.19. Following that event, she placed second in the women's mile with a time of 5.22.20. Dahlberg ended her day with another first-place title in the 4x400m relay with a final time of 4:17.47. This is Dahlberg's first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season.
A junior multi-competitor, Ulseth, competed in the VMI Winter Relays this past week where she recorded an NCAA automatic qualifying mark in Pentathlon. She totaled 3,828 points in the Pentathlon to take first place while also being awarded 946 points in the 60-meter hurdles (8.83), 867 points in the high jump (1.71m), 592 points in shot put (10.96). 816 points in long jump (5.89m), and 607 points in the 800-meter run (2:37.05). This is nationally ranked high jumper Ulseth's second consecutive Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
