Queens Picked as Preseason Favorite in 2019 SAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Coaches' Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens have been picked as the favorites to win the 2019 South Atlantic Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship, according to the preseason coaches' poll released today.
The defending champions earned 107 points in the poll, including seven of 11 first place votes.
Wingate earned the No. 2 spot with 102 points and three first place votes, while Lenoir-Rhyne placed third in the poll with 92 points, including one first place nod.
Carson-Newman came in at No. 4 with 76 points, followed by Anderson at No. 5 with 64 points and Coker at No. 6 with 63 points.
Lincoln Memorial took the No. 7 spot with 51 points, while Catawba earned the No. 8 spot with 50 points. Tusculum followed close at No. 9 with 48 points and Mars Hill placed tenth with 37 points.
Newberry rounded out the ranking at No. 11 with 25 points.
The 2019 SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place on Feb. 23-24 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Below is a list of the top athletes to watch from each SAC institution.
