The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for the 2017 SAC Women's Tennis Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate won its sixth-straight South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Regular-Season Championship as it captured the 2017 Title. With the crown, the Bulldogs have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Championship, it was determined today as the Conference season concluded this afternoon. Wingate finished the season with an 11-0 League record.
Queens, Tusculum and Anderson finished the season with identical 9-2 records in South Atlantic Conference play. The Royals earned the No. 2 seed as it owns an 11-7 dual match record vs. Tusculum and Anderson. Tusculum defeated Anderson during the regular season to earn the No. 3 seed and give Anderson the No. 4 slot. Carson-Newman played its way to the No. 5 position with a 7-4 League record and Newberry finished up the seeds at No. 6 with a 6-5 record in SAC play.
Wingate and Queens each earned a bye to semifinals. The tournament will take place at the Rock Hill Tennis Center in Rock Hill, S.C. with the quarterfinals getting underway on Thursday, April 20. The semifinals will be played on April 21 and the tournament will conclude with the finals on April 22. The tournament schedule is listed below:
