The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played between Sept. 10 and Sept. 15. Lincoln Memorial forward Jessica Cravero was named the offensive player of the week, while Queens goalkeeper Erica Turner was named defensive player of the week.
Cravero, a sophomore from Montenerodibisaccia, Italy, led the No. 14 Railsplitters to a 3-0 record last week with wins over Converse (6-0), Georgia College (3-2) and West Georgia (1-0). She scored four goals on the week for eight points, netting two goals against Converse and another two against Georgia College, including the game-winner. This is Cravero's first offensive player of the week honor of the season.
Turner, a freshman from Dublin, Ireland, helped guide the Royals to a 3-1 record last week with wins over Charleston, West Alabama and Clayton State. For the week, she posted a 1.21 goals against average making 20 saves in more than 370 minutes in the goal for Queens. She also posted a shutout victory against West Alabama, the first shutout of her collegiate career. This is Turner's first defensive player of the week award of the year.
