Lincoln Memorial No. 19, Carson-Newman No. 21 in United Soccer Coaches Women's Soccer Preseason Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters and the Carson-Newman Eagles will begin the 2019 season nationally ranked. The United Soccer Coaches released its 2019 NCAA Division II Preseason Poll on Tuesday (Aug. 6) and the Railsplitters will start the year as the No. 19 team in the nation, while the Eagles are the No. 21 ranked team.
LMU closed out the 2018 season with a record of 14-5-2. The Railsplitters where the 2018 SAC Women's Soccer Tournament Champions and they advanced to the NCAA Southeast Region final.
Carson-Newman finished last season with a record of 15-4-1. The SAC regular-season champions, the Eagles advanced to the NCAA Southeast Regional a year ago, falling to LMU in the regional semifinal.
The 2019 SAC women's soccer season gets underway on Thursday, September 5. The Railsplitters will travel to Chowan, while the Eagles will head to Bellarmine.
