The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during Sept. 25 through Oct. 1. Anderson's Kirsten Armetta garnered the Offensive Player of the Week award, while Tusculum's Hannah Graham was named Defensive Player of the Week.
A sophomore forward, Armetta scored the Trojan game-winner to take down conference foe Lincoln Memorial in overtime. The win pushed Anderson to a perfect 3-0 record in conference action. The Berlin, Conn. native took a long pass up the center of the field to collect the golden goal with only 40 seconds elapsed in extra time. This is Armetta's first Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Graham, a native of Peachtree City, Ga., recorded seven saves in the 3-1 SAC victory over Catawba. The senior goalkeeper made some acrobatic stops, with several in the second half to preserve the win. This is Graham's first Defensive Player of the Week award this season.
