South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Men’s Wrestling Unveils 2021-22 All-Conference Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. – South Atlantic Conference Carolinas men’s wrestling officially unveiled its 2021-22 all-conference honors on Tuesday, March 8.
The 2021-22 all-conference awards were chosen by the head coaches in the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas men’s wrestling collaboration.
Lander redshirt sophomore Zeth Brower was chosen as the Wrestler of the Year. The NCAA Division II Super Region champ at 141 pounds, Brower is presently ranked fourth nationally in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) rankings that were released ahead of the 2022 NCAA Division II Men’s Wrestling Championships that will be held this upcoming weekend.
Lander’s Elijah Lusk was chosen as the Freshman of the Year in the collaboration. Lusk finished as the runner-up in the region at 133 pounds.
First-year Newberry head coach Deral Brown was tabbed by his peers as the Coach of the Year after guiding his alma mater to the Super Region II title recently.
Anthony Cruz of Emmanuel was named the Wrestling Academic Excellence Award winner for the second straight year. Cruz owns an impressive 3.94 grade-point average.
