UVA Wise and Lincoln Memorial Grab Quarterfinal Win, Advance to SAC Women's Lacrosse Semifinals

UVA WISE DEFEATS LENOIR-RHYNE IN 8-7 THRILLER
WISE — UVA Wise continued its dominance in opening round conference tournament games Tuesday as Meghan Dennehy's squad claimed a 8-7 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne in the quarterfinals of the South Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Tournament at Carl Smith Stadium.

The win was the fourth consecutive for the Cavaliers (11-6) in conference tournament openers; but the triumph did not come easy as the Bears (7-11) led 6-5 after three-quarters of play.

Friday, UVA Wise will tangle with top-seeded and regular-season champion Wingate. First draw from Matthews, N.C. is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. 

WLAX UPSETS NO. 3 SEED LIMESTONE TO ADVANCE TO SEMIFINALS
Gaffney, SC – The Lady Railsplitters traveled to South Carolina to take on the Limestone Saints in the SAC Championship Tournament Quarterfinals. Lincoln Memorial upset the No. 3 Seed Limestone, defeating them 18-15. LMU is now 10-8 overall.

LMU will be taking on the No. 2 Seed Newberry in Matthews, NC Friday April 28, 2023 at 7 pm.
