The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week
Queens attack Hanna Scott has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, and Lenoir-Rhyne goalie Ines Flueck has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played March 19-25, the League announced today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens attack Hanna Scott has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, and Lenoir-Rhyne goalie Ines Flueck has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played March 19-25, the League announced today.
Scott, a junior from Centreville, Md., racked up 18 points on 12 goals and six assists, while leading the No. 17 Royals to a 2-1 record last week. She scored four goals with an assist against Lenoir-Rhyne. She then scored five goals and handed out three assists against Tusculum, and she capped off her week with three goals and two assists against UVA-Wise. Scott also scooped up seven ground balls during the week and caused six turnovers.
Flueck, a senior from Coppell, Texas, made 17 saves from the week, including making eight stops in the Bears' 12-11 come-from-behind victory over Queens. With the win, Lenoir-Rhyne gave Queens it's first-ever regular season SAC loss. Flueck also made nine saves in the Bear's 15-6 loss to No. 9 Rollins. For the week, she had 40.5 save percentage.
This is the first Player of the Week selection for Scott this season, while this marks the second time that Flueck has earned Player of the Week honors.
