Lenoir-Rhyne Finishes Ninth and Wingate Twelfth at NCAA DII Women's Golf South Super Regional
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Bears and Wingate Bulldogs women's golf seasons came to an end on Wednesday (May 9) at the NCAA Division II Women's Golf South Super Regional. The Bears finished ninth and the Bulldogs came in 12th at the Germantown Country Club.
Lenoir-Rhyne carded a 312 in the final round and finished with a three-round total of 938. Abbey Hartsell led the way for the Bears with a 15th place finish after firing a 76 (+4) in the final round. Ainee O'Connor tied for 21st after a 10-over-par 82 in the third round. Chelsea Mansell shot a 78 (+6), Laura Morrison carded a 76 (+4) and Jordan Young shot an 88 (+16).
Leading the way for Wingate was Mind Puangcharoen with a eight-over-par 80 on the final day of play. Sam Fritzinger carded a 79 (+7) and SAC Women's Golfer of the Year Diana McDonald shot a team low 77 (+5). Cristina Casanella Martinez and Laura Nunez Rodriguez rounded out the field for the Bulldogs with scores of 81 (+9) and 87 (+15) in the third round.
The SAC also had two individual golfers compete in the regional. Carson-Newman's Elizabeth England finished in a tie for 23rd after carding a 77 (+5) in the final round, and Lincoln Memorial's Dominika Czudkova shot a four-over-par 76 in the final round.
