The South Atlantic Conference Posts Three Softball Teams in the NCAA Regional Rankings
NCAA D-II Softball Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted three teams in the NCAA Southeast Regional Softball Rankings, the NCAA announced recently. Carson-Newman leads the way at No. 2, while Lenoir-Rhyne is currently ranked No. 5. Coker wraps up the list of regionally ranked teams for the SAC at No. 10.
The Eagles are the newly crowned South Atlantic Conference Softball Tournament Champions and are 43-11 in Southeast Region play. Carson-Newman is also receiving votes in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) national poll.
Lenoir-Rhyne is ranked No. 13 in the nation by the NFCA and posted a record of 46-11 in the Southeast Region.
Coker finished as the runner-up at the 2017 SAC Softball Championship and is 37-17 in the region.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Softball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
