SAC Announces Staff Promotions

ROCK HILL, S.C. - South Atlantic Conference Commissioner Patrick Britz on Wednesday announced promotions for three current members of the conference office staff.

Under approval from the SAC Presidents Council, Eliane Kebbe has been promoted to Associate Commissioner, while both Amanda Osburne and Eric Wieberg have been elevated to Assistant Commissioners. Kebbe is being promoted from her prior Assistant Commissioner position, while Osburne and Wieberg were formerly Directors.

"The conference members and I are fortunate to have strong, skilled staff members who have carried out their duties with integrity and expertise," said Britz. "Expanding their responsibilities is an opportunity both for their own professional growth and the enhancement of conference services."

Kebbe, who has overseen the SAC's governance and NCAA compliance efforts, as well as the majority of the conference championship events since joining the league in 2008, will also oversee officiating for softball and volleyball. She will continue interacting on a daily basis with the conference compliance coordinators and various coaches' groups. In addition, she has added the SAC Outdoor Track and Field and SAC Lacrosse Championships to her list of responsibilities, and will also assist the commissioner in a revision of the league's strategic plan.

As Assistant Commissioner for Internal Operations, Osburne's role will expand to oversee community engagement activities at the league's championships, as well as serving as the staff liaison for various coaches' committees. In addition, her responsibilities in the area of championship management will increase. Osburne, who joined the SAC staff prior to the 2011-12 academic year, will continue to have direct responsibility for the day-to-day business operations of the league office as well as overseeing the NLI process and medical hardship waivers.

In his role as Assistant Commissioner for Strategic Communications, Wieberg will assume the task of managing all conference award programs, as well as serving as the staff liaison to the league's baseball coaches' committee. Wieberg - in his third year with the SAC - will continue his oversight of the conference's media relations and digital communications and his role as the primary administrator of the SAC Baseball Championship, while additionally being involved in efforts to expand the league's branding efforts to local, regional and national markets.
