Wingate, Queens among Top 50 in Final Learfield Cup Standings

CLEVELAND – Wingate finished 24th and Queens 50th in the final 2013-14 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Division II standings, which recognizes athletic excellence on the national level in up to 14 sports per school.
Wingate's No. 24 final ranking was the highest of any SAC member. The Bulldogs made NCAA Championship appearances this spring in softball, women's tennis and men's tennis.
Queens, meanwhile, reached spring NCAA Tournaments in men's golf and men's lacrosse.
Lenoir-Rhyne finished 84th in the final standings, followed by No. 116 Carson-Newman, No. 150 Anderson and No. 166 Newberry. Catawba, Lincoln Memorial and Tusculum ended in a tie for 210th, Coker finished No. 226 and Mars Hill No. 227.
