Catawba's Alejandro Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets competed in during the first week of the season. Catawba's Javier Alejandro was named the runner of the week.

Alejandro, a junior from Hope Mills, S.C. took home the individual championship at the season-opening Chick-fil-A Invitational, while also leading the Catawba Indians to a team championship. Alejandro completed the 8k course in 26:44, besting the next closest opponent by 12 seconds. The win marks the first individual win by a men's cross country runner at Catawba since 2011.

This is Alejandro's first Runner of the Week honor for the 2018 season.
